This prototype bench is part 1 of our green seating experiment. Part bench part trellis, the wireframe construction allows plants to grow up and along the furniture, to achieve a sort of synthesis.
Design and construction are deliberately simple, and follow our new lo fi do it yourself ethic!
What is important here is the sense of proportion, so that when the trellises are overgrown, the effect in the landscape is similar to a three dimensional Mondrian - blocks of foliage and colour pinned between the lengths of timber - an absract deconstruction of the surroundings.
