The sculptural form of the fountain is designed to reflect sunlight back towards the water. Emerging from the pool are four stone blocks, fountains, through which the water cascades upwards in a spray of fine mist. They also contain the artificial light sources used to illuminate the fountain at night. Both the natural and artificial light are refracted by the mist to create a series of actual rainbows, a unique and beautiful effect the colours of which are reflected back and forth, picked up by other elements of the design.
