the combined arm and backrests of this bench wrap themselves around the rest of the seat to create a sculptural effect - a continually shifting pattern that changes as you follow the benches down the street - like a musiacal score or set of tumbling runes.

the aim has been to enhance the streetscape as a whole by creating a sense of rhythm and movement, as well as providing a flexible range of possible seating arrangements.

the developers propose that the large planters be removed and trees line only one side of the street.

our benches will line the other side. note how they compliment the strong horizontal and vertical lines already present in the buildings, as well as the rosy colours of the brickwork.
